How would you like to play a part in transforming a nation? The Rwanda Business Development Center is an effort to help entrepreneurs in Rwanda start and grow successful businesses with ethical values. Why is that important? Small to medium sized enterprises (SME’s) are the economic engine of a nation. Developing nations like Rwanda lack a robust SME sector. Without SME’s, a nation will suffer high unemployment, low GDP per capita, and all the accompanying social ills associated with extreme poverty.

The business development center (BDC) is designed to incubate and nurture SME development, thus transforming the socio-economic condition of the nation and blessing an entire generation of Rwandans. The BDC will offer a comprehensive portfolio of services, in addition to training, in order to substitute for the missing pieces of business infrastructure in a developing economy. Students Excited to Join Entrepreneurship Course

Dr John Mulford returned from Rwanda in early September after launching the entrepreneurship course for the Business Development Center. Students are enthusiastic and excited about the opportunity to study at the BDC. Jason Benedict is now teaching and other experts have participated in the class as well, including a group from Chik-Fil-A.

On the Ground in Rwanda! Dr John Mulford, RCE Director, returned to Rwanda August 15 to continue preparations for the opening of our Business Development Center. The entrepreneurship training course will begin August 23. Jason Benedict is on his way and will join John in Kigali.
